Bryce Tate was a 15-year-old from Cross Lanes, West Virginia — a student-athlete, a son, a brother, and a friend to everyone who knew him. He loved basketball, lifting weights, cooking, and making people laugh.
In the span of just 3 hours, predators targeted Bryce online, manipulated him into sharing an image, and demanded $500. He offered his last $30. It wasn't enough. They texted him 120 times in 20 minutes, put an imaginary deadline on his life, and coerced him into taking it.
The Bryce Tate Memorial Foundation was created by his family to turn their grief into action — raising awareness, supporting other families, and fighting for the laws and education that could have saved him.

The Shield Initiative
The Shield Initiative is an education and prevention program being developed by the Bryce Tate Memorial Foundation to help students recognize and respond to sextortion and online exploitation.
